We are looking for a Corporate Procurement Governance and Compliance Manager who will ensure that all governance and regulatory obligations are diligently managed and coordinated across the enterprise in full compliance with the Procurement & Outsourcing Standard and with local and Aviva group regulatory requirements.

This role impacts Aviva Canada’s ability to meet its requirements obligations under Group and Aviva Canada Procurement and Outsourcing Standards, policies and guidelines and Canadian regulatory requirements in an adequate and timely fashion.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, implement and administer a framework that tracks compliance across the enterprise with internal Aviva policies and control requirements, as well as any applicable Canadian regulatory requirements.

  • Provides direction and supports enterprise in completing activities, assessments, artifacts and requirements under the Group and Aviva Canada Procurement and Outsourcing Standard, policies and guidelines.

  • Completes risk assessments, quality assurance and testing activities against requirements of applicable standards, policies and guidelines.

  • Measures and report actual and emerging non-compliance risk.

Functional Expert

  • Effectively interprets and maintains a sophisticated and up-to-date understanding of Group and Aviva Canada Procurement and Outsourcing Standard, policies and guidelines and Canadian regulatory requirements.

  • Develops authoritative technical expertise of procurement technology platforms (Ariba, iProcurement, etc.)

  • Administrator and SME for procurement technology platforms functionality, process, tasks and detail level requirements.

Compliance Oversight

  • Completes assessments, quality assurance and compliance testing

  • Contributes to the production of documentation to meet compliance requirements to Aviva Group and Aviva Canada policies, guidelines and standards as well as relevant regulatory guidelines;

  • Coordinates self-assessment or attestations for Corporate Procurement with the completion of required reporting in accordance with reporting schedules

  • Maintains the procurement technology platforms

  • Acts as a project manager coordinating all activities required to be in compliance

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in economics, finance, accounting, law or other related field.

  • A graduate degree (e.g. MBA, CMA, CA, CFA, and CIP) will be considered an asset.

  • Project management or similar organizational skills an asset.

  • Familiarity with the Canadian regulatory requirements a plus.

  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to make written and verbal presentations.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated ability (5-7 years) in the review and analysis of internal controls.

  • Experience in implementing new systems or processes.

  • Experience in interpreting and implementing policies and standards is an asset.

  • Running compilation of formal documents and reports to describe and evidence processes.
